Rep. Salam Mourns Passing of Sheikh Adekilekun, Ansar-ud-Deen Chief Imam, Ede

The Chairman of the House Committee on Public Accounts and Member representing Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore, and Ejigbo Federal Constituency of Osun State in the National Assembly, Representative Bamidele Salam, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Sheikh Ibrahim Adekilekun, the revered Chief Imam of the Ansar-ud-Deen Society, Ede Branch.

In a statement issued on Monday, Rep. Salam described the late Islamic cleric as “a beacon of knowledge, peace, and devotion who served his community with unwavering dedication and spiritual guidance.”

Sheikh Adekilekun, who passed away over the weekend, was a prominent religious figure in Osun State, widely respected for his scholarly depth, leadership, and consistent advocacy for moral uprightness and community development.

Rep. Salam noted that the death of the Chief Imam is a profound loss, not only to the Ansar-ud-Deen Society and the Muslim Ummah in Ede but also to the entire people of Osun State.

“He was an associate of my dad and extended the same love to me, especially since I met him to announce my political aspirations in 2007.

“He remained a counsellor and encourager to me till he breathed his last.

“Sheikh Ibrahim Adekilekun was a father figure to many, a source of spiritual counsel, and a man who stood firmly for the values of Islam and communal harmony.

His demise leaves a significant void in our religious and communal life,” the lawmaker stated.

He extended his heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased, the Ansar-ud-Deen Society of Nigeria, and the entire Muslim community in Ede and beyond.

“May Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings, accept his good deeds, and grant him Al-Jannah Firdaus. I pray that the family and the entire Muslim Ummah find comfort in the enduring legacy he leaves behind,” Rep. Salam concluded.
