Rep. Bamidele Salam Mourns Passing of Oba Abdulahi Okunloye Agunloye, Olofa of Ofatedo

The lawmaker representing Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore, and Ejigbo Federal Constituency of Osun State at the National Assembly, Representative Bamidele Salam, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of His Royal Majesty, Oba Abdulahi Okunloye Agunloye, the Olofa of Ofatedo.

In a statement released on Saturday, Rep. Salam described the late monarch as a beacon of peace, unity, and traditional wisdom, who selflessly served his people for over four decades.

Oba Abdulahi Okunloye Agunloye was crowned in 1981 and reigned for 44 years before his demise at the remarkable age of 110.

“Oba Abdulahi Okunloye Agunloye was not just a traditional ruler, but a father figure, a peacemaker, and a strong advocate for community development.

His reign brought growth, stability, and harmony to Ofatedo and contributed significantly to the broader development of Osun State,” Salam said.

The lawmaker extended his heartfelt condolences to the royal family, the Ofatedo community, and the entire Osun State Traditional Council, urging them to find strength in the enduring legacy of service, wisdom, and humility left behind by the late monarch.
