In a collaborative effort to support students preparing for the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), Representative Bamidele Salam, Member representing Ede North/Ede South/Egbedore/Ejigbo Federal Constituency of Osun State, has initiated free preparatory classes.

This is contained in a press release signed by the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Education to the lawmaker, Umar Salman, and made available to the media by Joshua Afolabi on Wednesday.

These classes are set to commence in Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore, and Ejigbo Local Government Areas.

The release reads, “Starting from Monday, February 26, 2024, and extending through Friday, April 5, 2024, students from the specified local government areas will have access to comprehensive preparatory classes.

“These classes, organized in partnership with various student bodies, aim to equip students with the necessary tools and knowledge for success in the UTME examinations.

“Partnering students’ bodies include the Federation of Edeland Students’ Union (FELSU), Federation of Egbedore Local Government Students’ Association (FELGSA), and Ejigbo Local Government Area Students’ Association (ELGASA).

“The preparatory classes will be conducted in designated centers across the mentioned local government areas;
Ede North- Timi Agbale Grammar School, Ede, Ede South- Oba Laoye Grammar School, Ede, Egbedore- Alawo Grammar School, Awo, Baptist Grammar School, Ara, Ido-Osun Grammar School, Ido-Osun, and Ejigbo- ADS High School, Ejigbo.”

Umar emphasized that these preparatory classes are open to all students from the specified local government areas who have registered for the 2024 UTME, and there are no associated fees for participation.

He said that the initiative is fully sponsored by Representative Bamidele Salam.
