Representative Bamidele Salam, a member of the House of Representatives, has expressed his sorrow over the death of Alhaji Jimoh Wale Oyekanmi, the chairman of Ede north local government area in Osun State.

in a statement which he personally signed, Rep. Salam who is the House of Representatives Public Accounts Committee Chairman described Oyekanmi as a dedicated and committed politician who worked tirelessly for the development of his community, local government and the state as a whole.

“I am drained and still don’t know how to describe it!!!

“I lost an elder brother, a friend, an ally, a leader, a dedicated disciple of the Adeleke political dynasty in Osun, chairman of my strategic team and Chairman caretaker Committee of Ede North Local Government Council, Alhaji Jimoh Oyekanmi.

“This blow is heavy and depressing”, he stated.

Salam who represents Ede north, Ede South, Egbedore and Ejigbo federal constituency of Osun state, also praised the late Oyekanmi’s humility and selflessness, stating that he was always willing to listen to the concerns and needs of the people and was always in the habit of coming to their aid.

The lawmaker offered his condolences to the family, friends, and associates of late politician whose death occurred on Tuesday, 10th October, 2023, urging them to take solace in the knowledge that he made a significant impact on the lives of those he served.

The federal lawmaker while praying to Almighty Allah to grant the deceased eternal rest also called on everyone to honor Oyekanmi’s memory by continuing with his enduring legacy of selfless service to humanity and true commitment to the development of the state.
