Four communities in Ede north, Ede south, Egbedore and Ejigbo federal constituency of Osun state rolled out drums on Saturday, 22nd July, 2023 to celebrate the arrival of four 500KVA transformers in their neighborhoods courtesy of Representative Bamidele Salam, member of the national assembly representing the constituency.

The four communities namely Sekona of Ede south local government, Alapupu and Oke Arula in Egbedore as well as Idi-Igba in Ejigbo Local Government communities have been without electricity for a number of months due to faulty electricity transformers which have resisted all attempts to revive them.

It could be recalled that sometime last year, a delegation came to Salam from Sekona in Ede South Local Government to request for my help in replacing a faulty electricity transformer in the community. Sekona is a very strategic town and full of business activities and underscores the importance of such facility to the people not to have power supply for many months.

In realization of the promise he made to them on that occasion, Salam included it in his 2023 intervention projects consequent upon which a brand new 500 KVA electricity transformer was delivered to replace the spoilt one in Sekona.

“It meant an end to almost one year of total blackout. Same gesture was extended to Alapupu and Oke Arula in Egbedore Local Government as well as Idi-Igba in Ejigbo Local Government who all got new transformers delivered to them. It gave me joy to be a part of solving this problem”, Rep. Salam stated.

While presenting the transformers, Salam who was represented by his Senior Legislative Aides (SLA), Akintayo Jimoh Esq appreciated the communities for identifying his principal of support to the challenge.

He said he was overwhelmed with joy over the show of appreciation by members of the respective communities for coming out en mass to receive the transformers and turning the event to a carnival of some sorts.

Jimoh who was accompanied by community, party and traditional leaders in the four communities called on the residents to jealously guard the facilities in order to ensure that the serve the purpose that is intended noting that, that will go a long way in enhancing their economic activities and general wellbeing.

He enjoined the people to continue to pray for their son pointing out that such prayers will go a long way to strengthen his resolve to continue to come to their aid in times of need.

In the 9th Assembly, Salam facilitated the provision of transformer to Surulere estate, Okini, Awo, Eesa Tuntun, Isoko and Ijimobi communities.
