Ramadan: Rep. Salam urges charity, devotion, and prayers for Peace

Member of the National Assembly representing Ede north, Ede South, Egbedore, and Ejigbo federal constituency of Osun state, Representative Bamidele Salam, has felicitated with Muslims on the occasion of the commencement of the Ramadan fast.

Rep. Salam admonished Muslims to remain steadfast and resilient, focused on the spiritual significance of the holy month of Ramadan as they fast and pray.

In a special message, Salam noted that the 29 – or 30-day period of Ramadan is one of the pillars of Islam, which teaches sacrifice, sobriety, and charity to the poor.

He therefore enjoined his constituents and indeed all Muslims to use the occasion to pray for greater national peace and abundant life for all humanity.

“Let us not forget that the Ramadan period affords all Muslims an opportunity to practice sterling virtues of kindness through giving of alms and rendering support to orphans and others in distress”.

” I equally enjoin all adherents of the Islamic faith to devote time for personal study of the Koran and Hadith of the prophet Muhammed, Peace be Upon him, so as to be strengthened in knowledge and piety required of all true believers”, he stated.
